How to open it
- Install Serial Port Utility and start it. No account or subscription is needed on your side — the person sharing the port pays for the traffic.
- Open a connection's settings and choose the port type Remote Serial (Cloud Relay).
- In the "Select a Remote Serial Port" dialog, paste this code (or this whole link) under "Join with an invite code", type the name the host should see, and start the connection.
What you get, and what you do not
The port behaves as if it were plugged into your own machine: you can change the baud rate and data format, drive DTR/RTS and Break, run Modbus or a firmware update, and transfer files with XMODEM/YMODEM.
You get that one port and nothing else. The invite does not show you the host's other devices or ports, does not sign you in, and ends when the host stops sharing, when the code expires, or when you disconnect. The host sees the name you type and can end the session at any moment.
